Victory for Bollywood ?
The two things that have the biggest potential to equally rock and shock India are Bollywood and Cricket. On Tuesday afternoon, the Indian team beat England and Sanjay Dutt got a six year jail term. It did not take much work, on the TV remote, to see which one was hotter; the Indian team's win or the Jail term!
Well, TV channels, barring a few like NDTV, have a sheep mentality. What I was waiting for was the next morning newspapers. I wanted to see which of the two events takes the prime spot in the newspapers, the next morning.
On Wednesday morning it was pretty clear that the BCCI has indeed been successful in making Indian cricket a not- so- happening entity in our lives. Although the HT had the 2 rightmost columns on the front page mentioning the Indian victory, the more circulated TOI had no space for the 'win' in the first half of the front page!
Indeed its a victory for Bollywood. Whether its also a victory for the Indian judicial system, is another matter.

Well, it is certainly not Bollywood's victory. It has lost one of its most talented actors... media has got enuf juice to talk about though...
What a co incident that i was watching Black Friday at home. It's a shame that Mumbai blast happened. Why religious fanatic made people do it. No Religion teaches it's disciples to kill innocent people.
Well my thoughts is that judiciary system has won.
If Sanjay Dutt is GUILTY, then it was not enough.
Human life stands much above any individual.

Well, "good news is no news" the famous media proverb proven once more.
Besides, for quite some time I have this feeling if anything beyond Bollywood actually represents our nation in the eyes of media.
Probably it is my shortsightedness but I have hardly seen such bold headlines for the victory of our Judicial System.
If it is justice done or loss of an artist is a different matter altogether.
First of all, I think Justice Kode has done the right thing by punishing Sanju Baba, but six years' imprisonment is too harsh a punishment for a man, who has, during last 14 years, changed dramatically from a brat to a very sensible human...
I agree that he was neither ignorant nor a kid when he bought that AK-56, and that gun could be bought from some underworld guys or terrorists only, so it is a fact that he knew such people to an extent that they could believe him for such deal... From that angle of the story, the punishment was a must...
Now, he is going to appeal for a review in the Supreme Court of the country... But even if this appeal does not do any good for him, its my firm belief that he will prove himself to be strong enough to overcome such an incident yet again, like he has done three times earlier...
Best of luck, Sanjay... We love you...
